A good giving approach for individuals and families.

We start with a conversation to work out what working together might look like. Everything is shaped around what you actually need to move from where you are, towards making clear, confident and meaningful giving decisions.

“ We approached The Giving Concierge with some ideas for our charitable foundation. As a result of Helen's diligence and expertise we were able to initiate a project that exactly met our requirements.”

— Martin, Trustee of a Family Foundation

We don't expect you to know exactly what you need upfront.

We begin by getting clear on where you are, and where you might be stuck. This first conversation is free and carries no obligation. It's a chance for us to see whether working together makes sense, and which of the five areas of good giving you need help with.

01. Intention

Here we’re looking at the motivations and drivers that become the vision, mission and guiding principles for your giving. This initial thinking time gives you the space to get genuinely clear, on what matters most, what you want your giving to do, and what, if anything, you want to do next.

For some, this time for reflection creates enough clarity to move forward independently. Others pause here and return when the time feels right. Some continue straight into a flow of work that moves them from intention to strategy.

02. Strategy

We help you decide where and how to focus. That may include research into the issues you care about, developing your priorities and your non-negotiables, perhaps with some facilitation of group and family conversations.

All our strategic advice gives you a clear view of where you want your capital to go, your role in creating change and what meaningful impact looks like for you and the people and places you want to support. The outcome is a personal or family giving plan that you can make decisions against, with confidence.

03. Structure

Many people naturally start here. Choosing the right vehicle, or mix of vehicles, is important to deliver your plan. From direct giving and donor advised funds to trusts, foundations and impact investing, we can help you decide what structure and governance works for you.

If you already have an existing giving structure, we work with you on ensuring it delivers what you want it to. We don’t provide any legal, financial, or tax advice ourselves. Where you need that expertise we work alongside your own advisors or can signpost you to trusted professionals.

04. Action

When you’re ready to move capital, make gifts or grants, we help you connect and partner with the right delivery organisations and change-makers.

Whilst we don’t hold or administer client funds, we can help develop and manage your grant and giving portfolio and key relationships. We won’t leave you to figure out ‘the doing’ alone, unless you’re ready to take it from here. We stay with you for as long as it’s useful.

05. Meaning

We will develop a clear way for you to understand the difference and meaning created in your chosen communities and cause areas. We’ll bring in tools, systems and the experiences you need to know and grow your impact.

All our clients are welcome at Good Giving Grows, our in person event programme. We create informal spaces for learning, reflection and conversation, bringing together clients, their families and fellow philanthropists with inspiring people, ideas and experiences.

Clients often tell us that the work itself feels as valuable as the outcome: a space to think clearly, ask the right questions, and arrive at decisions you feel sure about.

Working with us is straightforward and unhurried. We take time to understand your situation and what you're trying to achieve before anything else.

“This is a fantastic piece of work and a reflection of just how well you listen and how good you are at asking the right questions to highlight and fill the gaps in my own thinking!

You’ve managed to make sense of a disorganised idea that captured my interest but scared me a little, to a project that I feel sure has potential to change many lives and that I can’t wait to jump headfirst into! I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you.”

— Donor Advised Fund-holder

“ You were outstanding at clarifying my needs, clearly articulating them and effectively and efficiently managing follow up actions, all whilst sharing the benefit of your knowledge and insight.”

— Zoe, Philanthropist

“ The flexibility to explore the professional and the more personal stuff has been one of the best parts of this process. You were challenging! but in a disarming way. ”

— Jez, Private Client

“ I have worked with Helen over a number of years. Her insights into charitable giving have been invaluable to me. Helen doesn’t use jargon, she just says it as it is. Very refreshing. Even when we don’t have a project on between us, I know that she keeps my philanthropic mission in her mind. I will continue to use Helen’s expertise when I need it.”

— Steve, Retired Entrepreneur and Charity Founder
